Welcome to Ascend: Reiki, Yoga & Wellness.
I started Ascend as a way to share my love of reiki and yoga and to hold space for wellness and healing with the community. In today’s world, we spend a lot of our time rushing from one place to another: putting out fires, checking things off our to-do lists. Our bodies are in a constant state of activity, of fight-or-flight and over time, this takes its toll. Our stresses and anxieties grow and start to manifest as physical or emotional ailments, or dis-ease. If we can take the time to pause, to take a moment, however brief, to care for ourselves, this can make a tremendous difference. We can start to release that negative energy and tune in to what’s really important to us and what helps us live in alignment with our highest and best selves. This is where true healing begins.

Reiki
Rei (universal) ki (life energy)
Reiki is a healing modality originating from Japan in the 1930s. It uses gentle and noninvasive hands-on techniques (although physical touch is not necessary) to assist in the healing of physical ailments. But, more than that, it helps to balance and harmonize all aspects of a person: body, mind, emotion, and spirit, to help promote personal growth
Distance Reiki
Distance Reiki works on the same principles as in-person Reiki, but the practitioner sends healing energy over a distance to a recipient or client in any location. Distance reiki can be performed virtually in the moment, or can be programmed or “time-stamped” for the client to receive the healing at a time that best suits them.
Meditation
Combining breath work and mindfulness, meditation with Diana will focus on finding mindful moments to help calm the nervous system to promote relaxation and ease stress.
Yoga
Yoga classes with Diana can be found in various locations and in a variety of styles, including vinyasa, slow flow, restorative, or hatha. See Calendar page to find a class! Private Sessions available - use the Contact form below!
Zumba

Nothing is needed aside from your open heart and mind. You may wish to bring water to drink before or after the session. Drinking water before and after reiki helps the body flush out released toxins and integrate energetic shifts. As energy blockages are cleared, stored tension releases. Water supports these natural processes and can help prevent mild dehydration and detoxification symptoms like fatigue or headaches.

Comfortable clothing is best for a reiki session. You will be asked to take off your shoes, but everything else will remain on. You may wish to wear layers so that you have the option to adjust to the temperature of the room.

When you arrive, we will spend a few minutes checking in about how you are feeling and any specific areas of healing you would like to focus on. I will give you a few moments to get comfortable, either sitting in a chair or laying down on the reiki table. I will guide you to take a few deep breaths to calm the nervous system, and then you may wish to close your eyes - you only job for the rest of the session is to lay back and relax. With your permission, I may lay hands directly on areas like your head, neck, shoulders, but physical touch is not necessary. If you prefer, I will just hover my hands over these areas.
You may experience things like the arms and legs moving involuntarily, gurgling in the stomach, the need to cough or sneeze. These are all signs of energy moving through the body and are nothing to worry about. You may experience all, some, or none of these things. You may even fall asleep!
When I have completed the healing for this session, I will gently let you know and I will give you some space to bring your awareness back into the body and sit up. We may chat for a few minutes to discuss the experience, and then our session will be complete!

If you schedule a distance reiki session, I will contact you directly after your booking to determine if you would like to have your session in the moment on a virtual call or if you would like to “timestamp” your session.
If you choose a “live” virtual call, I will share a link and we will conduct the healing at the time that you have booked. If you choose a “timestamped” session, I will conduct the session at the time you have booked, and I can intend for the session to reach you at a time that we determine is most convenient for you.
In either case, the healing will work much the same as an in-person healing, except that of course I will not be laying my hands on/over your body.
